Intended Audience

Probationary members of SVAC progressing through their required three-month training period.

Description

These courses provide the SVAC probationary member essential training to prepare them to assist on ambulance calls. You will learn about SVAC and its policies, what all the equipment is on our ambulance and where it is located, and how to assist with patient care.

Multiple topics are covered through various sessions and each probationary member is required to complete all modules within the three-month period. If unable to attend a specific module, please work with the membership coordinator to make up the session.

Outcome

Students successfully completing all modules have satisfied the formal training portion of the SVAC Probationary Member training sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Work with the membership coordinator if you are unable to attend a session. It may be possible to work individually with another member and get signed-off on your skills.

No. You can take them in any order if you like. However, we do prefer that you complete Module 1 prior to taking the other modules. You cannot ride on the ambulance until you have completed Module 1, BLS CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Yes. We ask that you attend all modules as it is also a way for us to evaluate your knowledge. Additionally, these courses don't just cover basic skills but include a conversational component that is conducive to understanding how SVAC operates.
