SVAC schedules crews to respond to 911 calls 24x7x365. When a call is dispatched, our team is en route within mere minutes, no matter the time of day. Our four ambulances are equipped with the latest in emergency medical technology, bringing the ER directly to your door. SVAC is certified to provide pre-hospital care at the highest level permitted in New York State.
The Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps is licensed through the New York State Department of Health to service the Village of Scarsdale, as well as northern New Rochelle, north of the centerline of Stratton Road, as its primary 911 response area. Any 911 EMS call within this area will be serviced by SVAC.
Beyond a primary response area, EMS agencies participate in an agreement called "mutual aid". Through this, SVAC may be called upon by area agencies if their ambulances are unavailable for a call, and SVAC may similarly call upon our neighbors for the same.
